The results are in! After many weeks of wondering if we would be celebrating in hues of blue or hues of pink on March 21st, we found out that it will be PINK! We are expecting a sweet baby girl, and Andrew and I couldn't have been more surprised. We didn't have any sort of preference as to what we hoped our firstborn would be. However, every old wive's tale test that Anna conned me into taking predicted a boy. Our symptoms were on such opposite ends of the spectrum that when she found out she was having sweet little Lucy, I just knew Tonka trucks and football games were in our future. We had the ultrasound technician write the sex of the baby on the card. We opened the card before dinner in the car, and both of our jaws hit the car seats. It said we are having a girl! After the initial shock wore off, we realized just how excited we are about a future full of tea parties, baby dolls, and ballet recitals.
Since the big reveal, our sweet baby girl has received so many well wishes, excited congratulations, and even gifts! Today, her newest friend, precious Anna Scott, gave her a gorgeous pearl bracelet to wear when she arrives. Anna Scott even modeled her own pearl bracelet to demonstrate how cute it looks on tiny little wrists. Grandmother also sent a package today for our little girl and included the sweetest note along with a darling pink outfit with ruffled bloomers. She will get to add these gifts to ones already received from her Aunt Jennifer and Nonnie!
And for the final reveal, we have decided on a name! Drumroll please...
Amelia Joy Weems
Andrew and I have always liked the name Amelia, and since Joy was my middle name, we thought we couldn't have decided on anything more perfect for our perfect baby.
I can't believe that we only have five more months until we get to meet little Amelia! She already has so many people who love her and can't wait to see her sweet face!
I'm so excited about another sweet little girl!! And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the name - I've always loved the name Amelia and now I get to have one in my life :) Little girls are so fun. Can't wait to meet AJW!
