One Week? Already?

Amelia had her one week check-up this afternoon.  I can't believe baby girl is already one week old!  Where has time gone?  She was a champ for Dr. McCain and hardly cried.  She already had her eyes open and ready to be checked when the doctor came in.

I'm still not too convinced though.

Amelia had gained 4 ounces since Monday and weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces.  She is only 5 ounces away from her birth weight!  She measured 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height.  She was in the 75th percentile for head size, so that cute little head of hers is holding a big brain!  They measured her at 19 1/4 inches, but Mom knows she's not shrinking as she was 20 inches at birth.  Dr. McCain also commented that she has a long torso and will make a good swimmer one day.  We may start Water Baby classes this summer!

Dr. McCain said she was healthy and strong!  She has been eating well and even slept 5 hours last night between feedings.  We go back for our one month appointment in mid-April.  It seems so far away, but I know it will be here before we know it.  Baby girl is already growing like a weed.  I just want to snuggle her up and keep her small forever.
