Tubular (and a Tad Bit Late) Three Months

Shame on Mom.  Someone is a wee bit late with this post.  Amelia turned three months on June 15th!  While a tad bit late, it's also a tad bit crazy that the three month mark has come and gone.  We've had some fun times since we last checked in!

We spent Memorial Day at G & P's house.  Amelia got her first taste of the pool, but it wasn't the best first impression.  The water was still a bit cold, and Mom thought (since it works well with adults) that we should just go all in at once.  Apparently, that theory doesn't work well for babies.  Lesson well learned.  Our next pool visit was much more pleasant, and we actually spent some quality time splashing with Daddy.  We also got to meet 2 news boy-friends!  *Note the hyphen there.  Daddy doesn't approve yet of boyfriends.*  Our new boy-friends, Brooks and William, are SUPER handsome, and Amelia is already hoping they might become boy(no hyphen)friends one day!

We also got to have some fun play dates with our girlfriends!  We spent one day in the park with Anna Scott, Lucy, Caroline, Ann Parker, all their moms, and Mrs. Kaley.  We then had another date with Anna Scott and Lucy, their moms, Mrs. Meg and Mrs. Kelly.  We are looking forward to seeing what the last few weeks of our 3 months brings.

Of course, Mom had to take some pictures to document the occasion.  In true AJ fashion, we had some great photos and also some great outtakes.

Prepping for the photo shoot.  Someone looks a little apprehensive...

By far, one of my favorite photos yet!

Contemplative baby.

I'm going to get the camera Mom!

Just chillin' in my chair!

Who looks like Daddy?  Amelia does!

Oh those little feet.  I could love on them forever.

Boston wanted in on the action.  Look how blue my eyes are!

And now for the outtakes.  Notice the pattern here...Someone has found their feet and is only concerned with staring them down.

Mother!  Pay attention to me!!!

Look!  I can pull myself up!

Ah!  Scary baby!

Mom!  Mom!  Look outside!  What is that???

Mom thought we would try both bows.  I was not impressed.

Okay, seriously Mom.  These are a little heavy.

Even puppies can mess up photos!

Note that we don't have any crying photos this time!  Someone was in a happy, cheerful mood for this photo session!  AJ has accomplished so many things in the past month.  She is sitting up straight and tall and can even balance a wee bit on her own.  She smiles and smiles at pretty much anything and has learned to reach and grasp.  Everything goes in her mouth these days, even while a bunch of drool is coming out.  We aren't rolling over or doing the baby push up yet, but we have started counting tummy time in minutes and not seconds.  She loves to watch Mom in the kitchen and stares Daddy down when he comes home from work.  She will follow the puppies back and forth around the room.  We've experienced a few minutes in the exersaucer and Jenny Jump Up with no tears.  She still only cries when she is hungry or tired, but she is sure to let you know when she is feeling either.  She puts herself to sleep at night around 8:30 and wakes up between 4:30 and 6:30 each morning.  I usually find her cooing in her crib in the complete opposite direction that I laid her down in.  She loves to talk (gets that from her Daddy!).  Sometimes its quiet and sometimes its really loud.  She will make all sorts of different noises and loves when you make them back to her.  We sing nursery songs, read books, and watch one episode of SuperWhy a day.  She is in Size 2 diapers and wears some 0-3 month clothes and some 3-6 month clothes.  She has outgrown her 0-3 month PJs though; Mom had to make an impromptu shopping trip to get some bigger ones!  Someone is growing up so very, very fast!

Sweet, sweet Ibby - Are you really a real baby?  How can such a little thing, in such a short time, bring so much joy and love into the lives of two people?  We know we are a little partial, but you are truly a perfect angel!  We definitely picked the right name for you...Joy.  You are a joy to spend time with, a joy to take care of, and the true joy of our hearts.  Momma almost runs people over trying to get home from work so she can see your sweet face.  I know we say this each month, but we can't believe how much you've grown and can't wait to see how you continue to grow!  We love you from the deep, far down, depths of our heart!
